  • Rithet’s Bog is a municipal park in the Royal Oak area of Saanich

  • The park is named after Robert Patterson Rithet, a Victoria businessman and politician who raised thoroughbred horses

  • In 1995, the Guinness family donated the 42 hectares of wetlands that the bog sits on to Saanich and eventually a four km trail was built around the bog
