  • West Bay walkway is a fully accessible boardwalk on Esquimalt’s waterfront and connects to Westsong Walkway, making for a 5km walk to downtown Victoria

  • The lands Esquimalt sits on was referred to as ‘the place of shoaling waters’ or Es-whoy-malth by the Coast Salish who originally inhabited the land

  • You will see Douglas Fir, Arbutus and Oak trees and views of the Olympic mountains along the walkway

  • The walkway was developed in 1980 as a joint project with the Provincial Capital Commission and the City of Victoria

  • The walkway starts at Head Street at the  West Bay Marina which is a popular spot for houseboats
