Spider Lake Provincial Park

Located near Qualicum Beach, this park is ideal for summer picnics and watersports like canoeing.

Location

  • Spider Lake Provincial Park is located 60 km north of Nanaimo and 16 km west of Qualicum Beach

About

  • A great 65-hectare park for summer picnics, it is also good for watersports like canoeing

  • The lake is stocked with rainbow trout, steelhead trout and small mouth bass making it a favourite for fishing

  • Bring your small boats, canoes and kayaks and launch them from the beach or the banked causeway outside the park (please leave your powerboats at home)

  • There is also a trail linking the two day-use areas

  • The larger day use area and parking lot are closed from Oct 16 to May 14 each year

  • A smaller day-use area can be found off Lakeview Road less than 1 km before the main park entrance and it’s open all year
