Holland Point Park

Holland Point Park in James Bay is a waterfront green space with coastal trails, mountain views, a model boat pond, and deep maritime history

About

  • Sitting on 13.8 acres, the area was originally used by Indigenous Peoples as a defensive site and for hunting, fishing and harvesting plants

  • After European contact, the point was named after George Holland, a Hudson’s Bay Company employee and seaman on the Beaver’s maiden voyage to the northwest coast in 1833 to 1836

  • It was designated as a park in 1947

  • The park boasts lengthy walking trails along Dallas Road and along the water with views of the Olympic Mountains and access down to a narrow beach

  • Off Dallas Road there is also a model boat pond (Harrison Yacht Pond) surrounded by benches and picnic tables
