About
Matilda Park is a charming neighbourhood park dedicated in 1992, with maintenance proudly managed by the City of Colwood.
Covering an area of about 1,170 square metres, this peaceful green space features three memorial benches, a garbage receptacle, and 50 metres of shoreline access along the beautiful bird sanctuary in Esquimalt Lagoon.
Visitors can enjoy incredible scenic views and a close connection to nature right at the water’s edge.
You’ll find the park tucked off Matilda Drive, accessible from Portsmouth Drive, with a gravel trail that’s open to pedestrians and fully closed to motor vehicles.
Thanks to the help of dedicated volunteers, efforts are underway to remove invasive species and reintroduce native plants, restoring Matilda Park to its natural, thriving beauty.
Matilda Park is a small but meaningful space where community and nature come together.
