McMinn Park in Saanich is a community park featuring forested trails, sports courts, a playground, and a central meadow once used as a show-horse training track

  • McMinn Park is approximately 6.39 hectares in size

  • The meadow in the middle of the park used to be a show-horse training track that belonged to the McMinn family

  • There are several trails lined with cedar trees

  • There are tennis courts, a pickle ball court as well as a playground

  • The District of Saanich lies within the traditional territories of the Lekwungen (Lay-kwung-gen) peoples known today as Songhees and Esquimalt Nations and the WSÁNEĆ (weh-saanich) peoples known today as W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱ (Tsawout), W̱SIḴEM (Tseycum) and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat) Nations
