About

  • Millstream Creek Park is a park in the Thetis Heights neighbourhood of Langford

  • The park is a green connector made up of parcels that were dedicated in 1996,1999, 2000 and 2001. The total park area is 1.38 hectares. There is also Millstream Creek North Park located at 2105 Millstream that was adopted by Langford in 2015 and adds an additional 1.75 hectares.

  • A notable feature of Millstream Creek Park is the Millstream Creek Trail, a multi-section pathway that runs near the creek and connects to the Goldie Park playground.

  • This park is also part of the longer Millstream Creek trail system and connects to other trails in the area, including the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.

  • While you’re exploring, you may see bald eagles and great blue herons.

  • The Millstream Creek Watershed is also home to black bears, black-tailed deer, cougars, otters, and raccoons.

  • Millstream Creek is one of three key watersheds draining the southern Saanich Peninsula.

  • While small compared to major South Island rivers like the Cowichan or Sooke, it plays a vital role as a habitat for coho and cutthroat trout.

  • Remarkably, despite flowing through one of the most densely populated and industrialized regions on Vancouver Island, this watershed has remained largely intact—thanks to the tireless efforts of volunteers and ongoing support from funding programs. (source: islandfishermanmagazine.com)
