Roche Cove Regional Park is located in Sooke and is 163 hectares in size
It was established in 1985
Roche Cove was named after Richard Roche, 3rd Lieutenant on HMS Satellite, a British naval vessel stationed in Esquimalt from 1857-1860
Roche was an amateur photographer and during the late 1850s he photographed areas surrounding Victoria
Roche took part in the joint military occupation of San Juan Island, an event that also honours his name
In the park you’ll find the Matheson Creek trail which connects to Matheson Lake Regional Park
The park also has a more challenging option, the Cedar Gove trail
The ever-popular Galloping Goose trail also passes through the park
