About
Swan Creek Park, located in Saanich, is just under 14 hectares in size.
Nestled in the heart of the community, the park winds its way from Swan Lake to Interurban Road, where it connects with Colquitz River Park.
The Swan Creek Watershed is home to a small run of Coho salmon.
A network of walking trails weaves through the park, linking nearby neighbourhoods and inviting visitors to explore.
Along the trail you will find the Bob Cox bridge, named after a founding member of the Friends of Swan Creek Watershed.
This serene stretch of the creek is home to riffles and pools, perfect resting and spawning spots for salmon and prime fishing grounds for Great Blue Herons.
Thanks to the efforts of the Friends of Swan Creek Watershed and the Peninsula Streams Society, students from nearby McKenzie School transformed the bridge railings into a vibrant public art gallery.
Their artwork shines a light on the stream’s delicate ecosystem, the remarkable journey of the salmon, and the importance of protecting this special place for generations to come.
Lush, forested areas give way to wide, open meadows, offering something for everyone, whether you're out for a peaceful walk or a place to play.
At the end of Kent Road, you'll find the Capital City Allotment Gardens, a hidden gem, accessible from a small informal parking area.
