View Royal Park

View Royal Park is a favourite of dog walkers and contains a bike park, playground, community garden, and outdoor gyms

  • The park lands were originally inhabited by the Saanich, Songhees and Esquimalt nations, collectively known as the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen)

  • The land was settled by Dr. John Helmcken in the 1850’s and used for a dairy farm

  • At 6.5 hectares, you’ll find a bike park, playground, and walking trails in View Royal Park

  • It’s a popular spot for dog walkers

  • A 49 plot community garden is located in the park, including a herb and pollinator garden as well as compost and soil storage areas

  • You’ll also find two outdoor gyms in case you want to sneak in a quick workout
