Willing Park

Willing Park in Langford features a forest and meadow trail, playful gnome displays, and picnic tables with built-in chess/checker boards

About

  • Willing Park is located in the Happy Valley area of Langford and is 14 acres in size

  • The park got its name from a pioneer family who moved to the area in the early 1900s

  • The Willing family donated five acres to Langford and the city purchased the remaining land to create the park

  • You’ll find an oval 1km walking trail that circles through alder and cedar second growth forest and meadow lands that were originally cleared for agricultural uses

  • Along a side trail, you will find an assortment of gnomes and other items on the ground and in the trees

  • In the picnic table area, you will find chess/checker boards embedded into the tables

  • Xwsepsum (Esquimalt), Lekwungen (Songhees), Sc'ianew (Beecher Bay), and the W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples represented by the Tsartlip, Pauquachin, Tsawout, Tseycum, and Malahat Nations
